I've been thinking what if the little mermaid story actually followed the original tale. However instead of going into the sea to leave this life and keep the prince alive with his lover, Ariel would've killed him to get her tail back and return to the seas.

Her heart broken forever, Ariel grows up to be a vengeful siren, mad and lustful she seduces men and women who dare to sail far from homes and have the black fortune of meeting her. She will not rest until she eradicates the seas of two legged beasts that dared to once betray her feelings.
